This is a trek for everyone. The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is fun filled and easy trek bursting with some of the most beautiful sceneries seen nowhere else in the world. It is considered as one of the most popular treks in the Nepal’s Himalayas.
The trek covers both the natural and cultural aspect of the region with remarkable views of the Annapurna range along with delightful scenery of forests and waterfalls, as well as a series of culturally rich villages.
The journey begins in Pokhara. After a soothing and relaxing day in the calming atmosphere of Lakeside, witnessing stunning views of the Annapurnas reflected in the waters of Phewa Tal, trekkers shall begin their climb from Nayapul the next morning. The steady climb to Thikedhunga, a traditional magar village, is filled up with the contrast of the flow of the river over a rocky terrain from the one side, and a lush green forest on the other. After Thikedhunga trekkers shall head for the climb to Ghorepani, a relatively steep uphill climb filled with views of the fascinating village architecture, lush green forests and the snow-capped Himalayan giants just sneaking up and teasing the travelers from behind the hills.
After a night spent at Ghorepani trekkers shall embrace themselves for the climax of the trip: the astonishing Himalayan sunrise in Poonhill, the highest point of this trek at3210m. The whole range of mountains will be visible from the platform, the view of the peaks bathing in the first rays of the sun is breath-taking!
After a delightful sunrise, trekkers shall start for Ghandruk. On their descent to Ghandruk, trekkers get to witness stunning views of the hills, valleys of white and red blossoms of rhododendron. On reaching Ghandruk, trekkers get to indulge in various activities such as try traditional Gurung costumes or ride on horses through the slope setting of the village in this fascinating and culturally rich Gurung village.
The trek ends after a day in Ghandruk, trekkers will then start their descent to Nayapul and head back to Pokhara with unforgettable memories.

- The meals in Tea Houses and Lodges are plentiful and delicious. For the breakfast it’s usually a variety of cereals, bread and eggs. And for lunch and diner it is usually rice, noodle or soup and seasonal vegetables. If you want to buy snacks, the accommodations sell plenty of biscuits, chocolate and soft drinks and in some areas you will fi nd fresh fruits in season.

- This trek is for everybody with at least a little bit of an active life. The trekking time per day does not exceed 6 hours (although this also depends on your walking speed) and an altitude of 3500m. The trails are not steep and there is virtually no danger of altitude sickness.

DAY 1 – Arrival at Kathmandu
After your trip to Kathmandu, Asian Journey will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. On the way you could have your first impress about Nepalese culture.

DAY 2 – Drive to Pokhara (850 m) / 6 - 7 hours
It is a long way through Nepal on roads both tarred and earth-surfaced, but you won’t be disappointed. You will discover the beautiful countryside of Nepal. Lush greeneries, villages, farms, rivers, lifestyle of local people in the streets and the panoramic view on the Himalaya range.
DAY 3 – Drive to Nayapul / 1 hour and Trek to TikheDhunga (1,495 m) / 4 hours
This first trekking day, will start along the BhurungdiKhola River with bamboo, rhododendrons forests and water springs. We will pass through Ramghai village and keep walking on a gradual ascend to reach TikheDhunga.
DAY 4 – Trek to Ghorepani (2,850 m) / 6 hours
We will continue following the BhurungdiKhola River. The trail is not too steep but we have to climb a stone staircase through terraced fields. Once arrival at Ghorepani Village, you will enjoy the panoramic view on Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhare and Lamjung among others.
DAY 5 – Morning hike up to Poonhill (3,210 m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,520 m) / 8 hours
Early in the morning we will hike up to Poonhill. A famous spot for its magnificent views of the great Himalayan range including Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and others.It says that is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Nepal. After enjoyed the sunrise on the mountains, we will return to Ghorepani for a breakfast, and continue our trek to Tadapani.
Is said that the trail from here to Ghandruk offers the most beautiful view of the entire trek. A part of the trail is Perched on a ridge, therefore it offers an amazing view on the South Annapurna before to walk through the forest.From the village, we get an excellent view on the Machhapuchhare.
DAY 6 – Trek to Ghandruk (2,070 m) / 3 hours
Today it will be a short and cool walk through the forest. Once upon arrival at the village, you will have choice to have a rest or to visit around the village. 1 hour further through the village, where you could see the lifestyle of local people, there is a temple up to the hill. From the top, the view of the village is nice.
DAY 7 – Trek to Nayapul / 4 hours and Drive back to Pokhara (1 hours)
Today it will be our last trekking day. On our way to Nayapul, we get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. Once arrival in Nayapul, a driver will transfer you to your hotel in Pokhara. You will have free time to enjoy the beautiful city of Pokhara and Asian Journey will give you all the necessary advise that you need.
DAY 8 – Drive to Kathmandu (5 - 6 hours bus)
As on the first way you could enjoy the beauty of the countryside, green hills and thundering rivers. The bus will drop you to your hotel. It will be a free time if you want to visit the surrounding area.
DAY 9 – Fly back home
We will transfer you to the airport and hoping you spent a beautiful time with Asian Journey in the Himalaya.
