Itinerary of Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

Short Itinerary Detailed Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! You will be picked up by our representative at the airport who will also drop you off at the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

With breakfast done, we prepare for an early morning flight or a drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara. Pokhara is a backpacker’s paradise. It’s a fantastic place to chill and relax.  If flying isn’t an option, you can easily get to Pokhara on a tourist bus. The journey is 6-7 hours long but pleasant with nice views of green hills and rivers flowing below.Overnight in Pokhara.

Note- If you take a plane instead of overland drive, the flight fare is extra.

After a delicious breakfat, we drive to Nayapul which is just more than hour from Pokhara. From there we begin our trek towards Ulleri. The trek is moderate and varied. We will pass through villages, tea-houses, rivers and so on. The trail descends as we make our way across the theTikhedungaKholavia a suspension bridge. We then cross another bridge and the trail turns steep. We begin climbing up a stone staircase of more than 3200 steps to reach Ulleri at 2080m. At the top we are welcomed by beautiful views of Annapurna south (7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m). Overnight at Ulleri.

Today’s task –A few hours of moderate trek through rhododendron forests, streams and a small ridge. Note, spring is the best time to see the stunning Rhododendron flowers in bloom. There’s a great many chance to spot some amazing birds and animals today along with the almighty snow-capped giants.
We make a stop for lunch at Nangathanti at 2460 m. The trail here is covered with snow in winter. From here, we trek further for an hour to reach Ghorepani at 2750m. Overnight at Ghorepani.

This day, we start early to witness one of the most satisfying and breathtaking scene one can dream of- the sun rising in the Himalayas. For this, we start early on a steep trail towards the viewpoint at Poonhill(3,210m/10,529ft), which is of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal and the Annapruna region. From Poonhill, we also get mesmerizing views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Mustang, Pokhara and more than 20 of the highest mountains in the world. After feeding ourselves with awesome views, we then return to Gorepani to feed ourselves actual food. After breakfast, we make our way towards Tadapani. We first ascend and then descend through rhododendron forests, we thenpass by some beautiful waterfalls to finally make ittoTadapani. Overnight in Tadapani.

It’s going to be a beautiful journey today. On our very first part of the trail, we find ourselves climbing down through a dense and dark forest of old rhododendron trees.As we continue our journey,and if it is the right time of the year, we will get to see cherry blossoms in bloom on the slopes on the other side of the gully. Soon, we shall reach Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village with intimate views of Annapurna South, the Fishtail mountain, and Hiunchuli mountains.

From here, we trek further towards Nayapul. We stop walking from here and start riding. This signifies the end of our trekking journey in the Annapurna region. We drive to Pokhara and stay overnight.
Alternatively, You can take a jeep from Ghandruk to Pokhara directly.

After a night of celebration, we prepare to leave for Kathmandu for some packing and more celebrations. We say goodbye to Pokhara and get on a 6-7 hours’ drive to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu you will have some spare time to do some last-minute souvenir shopping and resting. A dinner party is arranged to celebrate your successful journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

This is it, you’re last day in Nepal. It’s time to say goodbye, but we hope we’ll meet again! Our representative will escort you to the airport three hours before the scheduled flight.
