There is no doubt that Lord Buddha was Born in Lumbini, Nepal around  in 623 B.C. in the famous gardens of Lumbini. This is testified by the inscription on the pillar erected by the Mauryan Emperor Asoka in 249 BC. Therefore one can say that Lumbini is the holiest places for Buddhism. Not only this, the Ashoka pillar is the exact and true evidence about the nature of Buddhist pilgrimage centers that dates back to 3rd century BC.
There has been lots of debate about Where was Lord Buddha Born? Many Indian says that He was born in India. But I want them to answer that IS HE WAS IN WOMB OF HIS MOTHER MAYA DEVI IN SOME PLACE OF INDIA.?
No, man!! He was born in the Garden of the Lumbini and the Ashoka Pillar also signifies the exact birthplace of the Lord Buddha. It does not mean that if one got the great achievement of life in another place does not mean that you are changing his birthplace too.
Who Actually Was  Buddha?
Siddhartha Gautama was his real name. After gaining the truth of life he become known as Buddha (“enlightened one” or “the awakened”). He was the prince of the kingdom of Shakayas during the 6th to 4th century B.C. His father Śuddhodana was king who ruled the tribe who were economically poor. It is believed that mother of Buddha died after seven days after his birth. The holy man predicted many great things for the young Siddhartha that

  • He would either be a great king or
  • military leader or
  • great spiritual leader.

The king built a separate palace for him so that he would able to keep his son from witnessing the miseries and suffering of the world.
#Gautama Experiences the Real World
The young prince was married to Yasodhara at the at age of 16. Then prince experience the real world  with outside the walls of his opulent palaces. Accidentally one day hew was out of the walls, He saw a very old man, and charioteer explained that all people grow old and many things that he has not came across till date as people suffer from  disease man, a decaying corpse and an ascetic. The at the age of 29 he left the kingdom for the seek of the truth and he was determined a way to relieve the universal suffering that he now understood to be one of the defining traits of humanity.
#Ascetic Life and Enlightenment of Buddha
For the next six years after he left the kingdom, he spent an ascetic life and partook in its practices, studying and meditating as his religious guides guide him. Then he began to practice new way of living. As his practice did not get answer to his questions, he again put more effort as enduring pain, fasting nearly to starvation, and refusing water. His all these effort went in vain until one day when a young girl offered him a bowl of rice. As Gautama accepted that rice from the young girl. Then, he immediately recognized that corporeal austerity was not the means to achieve inner liberation and any physical effort is effortless so he had his rice, drank water and bathed in the river.
Then his five followers left him believing that Gautama had given up the ascetic life and would now follow the ways of the flesh. Then he began to encourage people to follow a path of balance( the Middle Way).
Buddha’s Envolvement
One night, Siddhartha sat under the Bodhi tree. He sat in vowing position not to get up until he finds the truths that he is seeking for. He stayed under Bodhi tree for several days, purifying his mind, seeing his entire life, and previous lives, in his thoughts. While he was meditating Mara, an evil demon objected that Mara has right to become the Buddha. Then Lord contacted his hand to the ground and begged Mother Earth to bear witness to his enlightenment, which it did, banishing Mara. Then he was enlighten with the truth of life and began spreading his truth to people. Then became  Buddha ( means Wake Up ). Then for about 50 years He traveled different part preaching the Dharma and his path-folds.
All this made the Buddha not a human but a superhuman.
The Conclusion is that Lord Buddha was definitely born in Lumbini, Nepal. In the case, the Maya Devi Temple and the Ashoka Pillar depicting the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha. While Bodhgaya was the place The Lord got the Nirvana.
