It is where you must be prepared to conquer 3 long trails that take you through long mountain trails, serene valleys, ancient monasteries, and picturesque Sherpa villages – Kongma La Pass (5,535m) , Cho La Pass (5,420 m), and Renzo La Pass (5,340m), each offering breathtaking views and challenges that test your physical and mental capabilities.

Short Itinerary Detailed Itinerary

On your arrival, you will be picked up by our representative who will drop you off at the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided tour to the most spiritual and popular attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these attractions are even included in the list of World Heritage Sites. Witness the brilliant Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the renowned ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath), and one of the largest Stupas in the world-Bouddhanath. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Your Everest High Pass Trek adventure begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Which is a thrilling experience in itself. From Lukla, begin your trek to Phakding, a charming village along the Dudh Koshi River.

Today, trek to Namche Bazaar. It is the gateway to the Khumbu region. The trail runs through dense forests, crossing long suspension bridges over rushing rivers. Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town, welcomes you with the perfect combination of lifestyle and shopping.

Spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. Explore the vibrant markets here.  Visit the Sherpa Museum and enjoy panoramic views of Everest and its neighboring peaks—it looks just perfect! Acclimatization is very important to comfortably adjust to higher altitudes.

Continue your trek to Tengboche. It has Nepal’s most famous monasteries- Tengboche Monastery. The trail offers captivating views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest, providing a spiritual and visual feast.

As you trek to Dingboche, the landscape transforms into a rugged terrain with sparse vegetation. You will feel the altitude as you ascend higher, but the stunning scenery and warm hospitality of the locals make it worth the effort.

Take another acclimatization day in Dingboche. A short hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,100m) is recommended.

Proceed to Chhukung, a small village nestled in a stunning valley. Chhukung serves as a base for climbing Island Peak, a popular mountaineering destination.

Today is a challenging day as you cross Kongma La Pass, the first of the 3 high passes. Get ready for steep climbs and descents. It will offer the best of the breathtaking views of the nearby peaks as your reward. Reach Lobuche, your resting place for the night.

Note: Crossing the Kongma La is optional, if you wish to not go through it we can head for Lobuche from Chhukung.

Trek to Gorak Shep, the last settlement before the majestic, “Everest Base Camp”. After a brief rest, begin the hike to the iconic Everest Base Camp. Experience close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall and the glacier.

We walk up a slope admiring great views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains. Kala Patthar is a famous landmark in the region, it literally means black rock. Some would say, Kala Patthar is the highlight of the whole trip. Since the mountains surrounding EBC are so massive, you can’t actually see Mount Everest. It is on top of Kala Patthar, where one can see the best view of Mount Everest. Hikers walk early in the morning to Kala Patthar to witness the sunrise from Kala Pattar. After spending some time at Kala Pathhar, we head back to Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.

We leave Lobuche as we head downhill alongside the Khumbu Glacier. Soon the trail splits, we take the one on the right. We admire awesome views of the Awi Peak on this trail and pass through a stupa. Soon, the trail becomes sloppy and we get a beautiful of the CholaTsho Lake nearby. Further down the trail we pass another lake then cross a bridge over the Chola Khola to reach Dzongla. Overnight in Dzongla.

Today, the trek is going to be demanding but worth every sweat and tears because the views are extraordinary. We go uphill and soon get views of the Cho La Lake, the AmaDablam and Cholatse mountains. The climb is challenging and made more difficult by boulders we must make our way through. Just before reaching the top, our trail curves round a crevasse making the climb even more challenging.
Once the final climb is done, we reach the top filled with prayer flags and cairns. After admiring the jaw-dropping view from the top we start for a long but easy descent to Thangnak. As we descent, we find ourselves at the edge of the longest glacier of Nepal, the Ngozumpa glacier. Soon, the second Gokyo Lake on the series of six lakes appears and no sooner the third Gokyo Lake, too. We head for Gokyo Village. Overnight in Gokyo Village.

This is going to be an exciting day- there’s going to be loads of hiking, mouthwatering views, and a sense of complete satisfaction. We make some climbs to reach the fourth and fifth lakes of Gokyo, we head towards a viewpoint called the Scoundrel’s Viewpoint and also climb the Gokyo Ri, the views of the Gokyo lakes and the surrounding mountains is breathtaking from the top at Gokyo Ri. Expect marvelous views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makulu, and Ngazumpa Glacier- the largest glacier is the world. Overnight in Gokyo.

We set off early walking alongside the Dudh Pokhari for a while and then descend towards the Renjo La pass. The views remain extraordinary en route, the views from the Renjo La pass are as beautiful as from Gokyo Ri with the third Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village beneath the Ngozumpa Glacier. The top of the pass offers magical views of Mt. Everest as well. We soon descend towards the south side of AngladumbaTsho Lake. The descent can be tricky as the trail might be covered with ice. We also see nice views of RelamaTsho and Renjo Lake on the descent. We soon make our way through a narrow valley littered with giant boulders to reach Lumde. A brief walk from Lumde we reach Marlung. Overnight at Marlung.

We head down from Marlung on a historical trade route followed by traders for hundreds of years to reach Thame.  We cross a few brides en route to Thame. From Thame, we go further downhill passing through some villages to finally reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

It’s again all downhill from here. Enjoy the views and reflect upon what you just achieved in these last two weeks. It is a wonderful time to fully look back on the entire journey. After passing some rocky path, it is just a quick descent, crossing several suspensions bridges on the way until we reach our destination. We will also be passing by many monasteries, too. And finally, we make it back to Lukla. This will be the last day in the mountains! Time to rest, reflect and relax! Overnight in Lukla.

We will catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu, where we can do some last-minute souvenir shopping and some celebration! You can also check out some other places in Kathmandu, we will be assisting you with that as well. A farewell dinner is arranged to celebrate your success. Overnight in Kathmandu.

This is it, your last day in Nepal. It’s time to say goodbye, but we hope we’ll meet again! Our representative will escort you to the airport three hours before the scheduled flight.
