Lumbini is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal. It lies in the South Western side of the country. Lumbini is also the birthplace of Lord Budhha. It takes about 8 hours to reach Lumbini by car from Kathmandu.
There are many monasteries and historical sites dedicated to Buddha in Lumbini. It has also the preserved ruins of the Buddha’s birthplace.
Maya Devi Temple is the most important site there which preserves the traditional site of the Buddha’s birth. There are other significant sites as well the Ashoka Stupa.
There are several modern temples and monasteries they’re made by different countries including Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, Japan, South Korea and so on. All these monasteries reflect the architecture of the said countries.
