Many travelers make their way to Syange via Besishar on their way to the Annapurna Trekking routes. It takes about 7-8 hours of drive to reach Syange from Kathmandu. Going by jeep is the most comfortable way.
Syange is a small village with a handful of lodges on both sides of the road. Most of the lodges are owned by the local Gurung people. One of the highlights of Syange is the theSyange waterfall. It is huge and never fails to make its presence felt. As the sound of the waterfall can be heard from every lodge in the village. There is a lovely plunge pool in the upper tier of the Syange waterfall as well.
Syange is also known for wild honey. One can easily spot the hives of the Himalayan Giant Honeybee when they make their way to the waterfall.
The locals can even offer you the honey if you ask for it but make sure to just taste it a little because it is highly intoxicating. If taken too much it can lead to mild hallucinations and temporary loss of motor control.
The journey to Besisahar is comfortable, it can be a bit bumpy from there to Syange. Pack in some snacks and plenty of water as the journey is almost 8 hours long.
