How to Get Pokhara From Kathmandu

Flight:
The flight is the most comfortable and quickest means of traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Tourist Bus takes around 6-7 hours to reach Pokhara. The bus leaves at around 7 am from Sorakhutte, near Thamel. All tourist buses offer a free bottle of water, air conditioning, onboard Wifi, and frequent rest and food stops. The cost of tourist bus is $10 per person.

Who can do Poon Hill Trek

As the trek doesn’t cover the high altitude and is only for 4 days, anyone can easily carry out this short trek. From child to elderly people with good health can easily commence this short trek, so it can also be done with the entire family.

Itinerary

Take a private car and then drive to Naya Pul for an hour. Your trek starts from Naya Pul. The trek passes through local villages, teahouses, green hills, rivers, and local people. Subsequent to crossing the Tikhedunga Khola on a suspension bridge, the path starts to move up steeply on a stone staircase that is more than 3200 steps.
Upon climbing the hill you can witness the majestic Mt. Annapurna south (7219m.) and Hiunchuli (6441m.). Overnight at Lodge.

After breakfast, continue your trek towards the Ghorepani. Today’s trek is very pleasant as you walk in the jungle for the majority of the day. In the spring you will witness a lot of Rhododendrons blooming on the hills.
Furthermore, the trek offers you the opportunity to witness various wild birds and animals. Upon reaching Ghorepani you will witness the splendid view of the majestic Himalayan Ranges. Overnight at Lodge.

Get up early in the morning and then hike towards Poon Hill leaving the bag on the hotel at Ghorepani. Walk for about an hour and reach the splendid hill station. Witness the preeminent sunrise view along with the magnificent Himalayas including Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri ranges, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, Mt.Manaslu ranges, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and more.
After this life-changing perspective, you will return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Upon breakfast, you will continue your trek towards Ghandruk. The trek starts with quite a steep uphill section to Deurali pass. From here the trail descends down towards Tadapani. The trail continues to Ghandruk through the Baisi Kharka (Buffalo pasture).
Ghandruk is perhaps one of the largest Gurung Village. There is the Gurung Culture Museum. You may take a quick trip and see the lifestyle of the Gurung individuals. From Ghandruk, you can still witness the magnificent views of the Himalayas. Overnight at Lodge.

In case of a clear morning, you will witness the close perspective of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (fishtail) and Annapurna III. After breakfast descends towards Naya Pul passing through Kimche. After the walk of around 4-5 hours, you will finally reach Naya Pul. Upon reaching Naya Pul drive back to Pokhara.
Alternatively, you can take a local jeep to Pokhara.
